Hefei, capital of East China’s Anhui province, will host another international event following the World Manufacturing Convention 2019 which ended in late September.

The first World Display Industry Conference is slated to be held in the city from November 22 to 24, according to the municipal investment promotion bureau.

Forums, exhibitions, new product releases and industrial partnering meetings will kick off during the period.

The conference will bring together more than 100 panel screen suppliers from China, Japan, South Korea, the United States, Germany, Sweden, France and China’s Taiwan. In addition, nearly 100 academicians with the Chinese Academy of Sciences or the Chinese Academy of Engineering as well as experts will attend the event.

In recent years, the display industry has emerged as a strategic industry in which many countries compete. As the global display industry is accelerating its transfer to the Chinese mainland, both the area and the value of TFT-LCD panels shipped from the region rank first in the world.

The reason why this world-class gathering will be hosted by Hefei is closely related to the city’s strong industrial foundation. It has a complete industry chain covering equipment, materials, devices, panels, modules and intelligent terminals. A number of new display industry leaders operate here, including BOE, Visionox, Epilight, Corning, Sunnypol, Sumitomo Chemical, and Air Liquide. It is also a panel industrial cluster with the largest production capacity, the longest industry chain and the most advanced technology in China.

The output value of the province’s new display industry is expected to exceed 200 billion yuan (about $28 billion) in 2022.
