A static test has been carried out on a high-speed railway linking Zhengzhou, capital of Central China’s Henan province, with Fuyang, a city in East China’s Anhui province, since July 10, according to a meeting held recently in Hefei, capital of Anhui province.

The Shangqiu-Hefei section of the high-speed railway from Shangqiu in Henan province to Hangzhou, capital of East China’s Zhejiang province, via Hefei has undergone a static test as well starting on July 15.

The two railways are due to be ready for operation before the end of November.

An extensive passenger transport network is emerging between Northwest China and East China, as the Zhengzhou-Fuyang railway joins the Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou rail line in Fuyang, and connects the Yangtze River Delta rail network. It also helps to improve the railway network in the Central China region.

The rail route will strengthen regional economic relationship, and bring benefits to people living along it.

With a total investment of 96.08 billion yuan ($13.97 billion), the 794.55-km Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou railway passes through Anhui province from north to south and connects the Central China region with the eastern Yangtze River Delta region.
