A cargo train set off from Duisburg, Germany for Hefei, capital of East China’s Anhui province, on June 1, 2019, marking the 182nd service this year.

Since the beginning of 2019, 182 train services have been launched between Hefei and European destinations, up 237.04 percent year-on-year. They transported goods worth a total of $607 million, up 162.70 percent from the same period a year earlier. The cargo volume has surpassed that in 2018.

The Sino-European train has made 529 trips since it was put into operation on June 26, 2014. It helps boost the growth of the province’s foreign trade companies by carrying “made-in-Anhui" goods, especially those produced in Hefei, to the world.

This year has seen 62 Sino-European train trips, 28 European-Sino ones and 92 Sino-Asian ones.

Destinations included Germany, Poland, Austria, Russia and Kazakhstan. Goods that have transported ranged from robots to machine parts, washing machines, tires, cars and photovoltaic products.
