Yangtze Push for 5G

State-owned wireless infrastructure operator China Tower Corp, along with three major telecommunications operators, has vowed to invest 200 billion yuan ($31.16 billion)in the next four years in the Yangtze River Delta region to enhance 5th-generation wireless systems (5G), media reports said on Saturday.

The three operators - China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom - and China Tower will develop new 5G networks and information technology infrastructure, which will help cities in the region become more advanced, news site cilianpress.com reported. And the technology will be fully commercialized in the region by 2020.

The region includes East China's Jiangsu, Anhui and Zhejiang provinces, and Shanghai Municipality.
