Party Chief of Anhui Meets Ban Ki-moon

Li Jinbin, Party chief of East China’s Anhui province, met with Ban Ki-moon, former secretary-general of the United Nations and chairman of the Boao Forum for Asia, in Hefei, capital of the province, on Thursday.

Li extended warm welcome to Ban and other representatives of international organizations set to attend the World Manufacturing Convention 2018 and the Anhui Investment and Trade Expo 2018 from Friday to Sunday.

Progress has been achieved and stability ensured in economic and social development of Anhui over the past few years, Li said, adding that the province has more and more distinct edges in science and technology, industries and opening up.

Speaking at the meeting, the official expected international organizations to increase communications with Anhui, promote exchanges and cooperation between the Chinese province and countries around the globe, and give backing to more manufacturers interested in investing in the province.

The landlocked province will ramp up efforts to create open and cooperative global business environment and speed up opening up.

Ban said Anhui stands on a new platform for development and international organizations will enhance communication with the province.

Ban also noted that he may visit Anhui again to offer more support and help to the province which aims to expand into a manufacturing powerhouse.
