Anhui’s cultural exports and imports reached $710 million in 2017, the Department of Commerce of the eastern Chinese province said.

Cultural exports stood at $130 million, and the province’s outbound investment in areas of culture, sports and the press and publishing industry amounted to $2.88 million, statistics from the department showed.

The exciting development in international cultural trade is largely attributed to the expansion of market entities. Three clusters of cultural trade have emerged as Shushan district of Hefei is known for cultural services, Fuyang for wickerwork and Chuzhou for plush toys and stationery commodities.

Home to 17 national cultural industrial leaders, Shushan accounted for nearly two thirds of cultural service exports of the province.

The city of Fuyang nurtured some wicker enterprises with impressive driving forces and strong growth.

Demonstration zones for toy imports and stationery were set up in Chuzhou’s Tianchang city and Lai’an county, respectively. As one of the country’s three plush toy industrial clusters, Tianchang has more than 400 related enterprises.
