On Jul. 4, the water in Chaohu Lake began to rise over the anti-flood wall in Xibakou of the Chaohu City, threatening the safety of the city. The flood continued to go up and submerged some viewing platforms on Jul. 5. Over 200 armed policemen consolidated the dyke with bags of earth on Jul. 6.
