Currently, the construction of an expressway from Wuhu to Huangshan is going to the final part. This road will be fully opened to traffic at the end of November. While the Wuhu-Huangshan high way is opened, driving through there is more convenient because the distance will be further shortened.
As one of the projects that allow every county in the province to have expressway access, the 116km-long Wuhu-Huangshan expressway is an essential part of the Xuzhou-Fuzhou expressway. It connects the Second Wuhu Yangtze River Bridge and the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway in the north and goes past Fanchang, Nanling, Jingxian and Jingde and connects the Hefei-Tongling-Huangshan Expressway in Huangshan district. About 11.8 billion yuan ($1.8 billion) was invested into the project.
The project will not only put an end to the history that Jingxian and Jingde have no access to expressways, but also will realize the province’s goal of letting every county have expressway access. Furthermore, it will be of great significance to support the "all-for-one tourism" in southern Anhui, promote the coordinated regional development of the province and integrate into the national strategy of integrated economic development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
