Meizhu Vegetarian "Chicken"

Meizhu Vegetarian “Chicken” is a kind of steamed bean curd roll cooked in Meizhi town of Xuancheng city. It is prepared by coagulating Tofu pudding, pressing the resulting curds into layers of soft solid white blocks, wrapping them to a roll and steaming. After cooling, the steamed roll is cut into slices, deep-fried, soaked in boiling water, and cooked in a pot with spices. The food with tender taste smells like chicken. It enjoys popularity in the town.
