Anhui Pilot FTZ attracts 60-plus investment programs

More than 60 programs worth a total of 52.41 billion yuan ($7.77 billion) have been signed in the Anhui Pilot Free Trade Zone since it was inaugurated on September 24, according to the Department of Commerce of Anhui Province.

The programs cover areas such as integrated circuits, new energy vehicles, 5G, artificial intelligence and high-end service industries.

In the Hefei Area of the Anhui Pilot FTZ, a Shanghai-based company is injecting 5 billion yuan into an ntegrated circuit microdisplay project, and a US-based aircraft company is building a recycling park with 2 billion yuan.

A 3.2-billion-yuan vehicle-mounted 3D display panel program and a 2-billion-yuan micro robot program are underway in the Wuhu Area of the FTZ, while an industrial park project featuring high-end equipment manufacturing is being launched in the Bengbu Area of the FTZ.

Covering a total area of 119.86 square kilometers, the Anhui Pilot FTZ falls into three parts: the Hefei Area, the Wuhu Area and the Bengbu Area, according to a plan issued by the State Council, China’s cabinet.

The Hefei Area, covering an area of 64.95 square kilometers, focuses on developing high-end manufacturing, integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, new display, quantum information, tech-finance and cross-border e-commerce.

The 35-square-kilometer Wuhu Area focuses on developing intelligent networked vehicles, smart home appliances, aviation, robotics, shipping services and cross-border e-commerce.

The 19.91-square-kilometer Bengbu Area focuses on developing silicon-based new materials, bio-based new materials and new energy.
