Hefei, capital of East China’s Anhui province, resumed freight train services bound for Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan as a train carrying 100 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent unit) set off from the city for Almaty, Kazakhstan on Monday.
Sources of goods on the train included Hefei, Huangshan, Wuhu and Xuancheng cities. The train will arrive at three stations on the periphery of Almaty.
Hefei saw 54 trips made by China-Europe freight trains from Jan 1 to Mar 23.
The city operates two Asia-bound China-Europe freight train services. The Hefei - Almaty train runs every Sunday, while the one from the city to Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan, is operated every Monday.
