5.78 billion yuan raised for epidemic prevention and control in Anhui

“As of February 9, government budgets at all levels in Anhui Province have raised 5.78 billion yuan on epidemic prevention and control, with 1.3 billion yuan actually spent”,said Wang Zhaoyuan, the member of the Party Group and Deputy Director-General of Anhui Provincial Department of Finance, on the press release organized the Information Office of Anhui Provincial People’s Government.

After the outbreak of the epidemic, Anhui Provincial Department of Finance has worked closely with related provincial departments, required financing authorities at all levels to increase fiscal support, and ensured the implementations of policies, work arrangements, budgetary plans, fund appropriation and supervision. As of February 9, government budgets at all levels in Anhui Province have raised 5.78 billion yuan on epidemic prevention and control, with 1.3 billion yuan actually spent. 3.38 billion Yuan from the central government and 1.09 billion Yuan from Anhui Provincial government have been mainly used as special subsidy for epidemic prevention and control, on basic public health service, on epidemic prevention and control at county, village and community levels.      

Meanwhile, Anhui opened a green channel for fund payment and government procurement. By taking measures such as advance funding and advance payment, priorities were given to ensure fund appropriation for epidemic prevention and control. Special allocations of treasury fund were dispatched to counties and districts with tough task on epidemic prevention and control and low level of treasury. The government procurement of materials for epidemic prevention and control was simplified and facilitated due to emergency.

Mr. Wang said, “According to the decision and arrangement by CPC Anhui Provincial Committee and Anhui Provincial Government, Anhui Provincial Department of Finance will make firm and relentless efforts in ensuring enough fund on epidemic prevention and control and providing good services so as to win the battle against the epidemic.”
