Anhui's Top Political Adviser Meets with Overseas Chinese Delegates

Zhang Chang'er, Anhui's top political adviser, met with non-voting overseas delegates to the ongoing 3rd Session of the 12th Anhui Provincial Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on Monday.

Zhang said led by the Anhui Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the province made remarkable achievements in economic and social growth in 2019.

Overseas Chinese are a major force behind building Anhui into a beautiful and modern province featuring innovative, coordinated, green, open and shared development and behind achieving “the two centenary goals”, said the chairman of the CPPCC Anhui Provincial Committee.

Zhang voiced hope that overseas Chinese will seize the opportunity of Anhui’s growth and participate in the province’s development on a larger scale and at a higher level to achieve mutual benefit and common development.

Zhang also stressed the provincial political advisory body will continue to maintain close ties with overseas compatriots, provide better services for them and foster a sound environment for those in Anhui.

Speaking at the meeting on behalf of the 21 delegates from 19 foreign countries, Zhang Min, a researcher with the Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere, Kyoto University said they are amazed by what Anhui has achieved over the past few years and will continue to make suggestions and proposals to promote the province’s development.
