From garbage to electricity: tour of a power plant in E China's Anhui

HEFEI, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- A power plant in Feixi County, east China's Anhui Province, has been burning solid waste to generate electricity. The power plant, known as the China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP) Feixi Environment-friendly Energy Co., Ltd., uses approximately 730,000 tonnes of domestic garbage each year and create some 230 million kWh of electricity.

China has announced that it will strive to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
