One more national development zone in Anhui

The State Council, China’s cabinet, has upgraded 13 provincial-level economic and technological development zones to state-level ones, including Hefei Shushan Economic development Zone, located in Hefei, capital of East China’s Anhui province.

From 1984 to 1986, China established 14 state-level economic and technological development zones. A total of 219 national economic and technological development zones were established as of September 2015. Jiuquan Economic and Technological Development Zone and Shizuishan Economic and Technological Development Zone were removed from the national list in January 2020 and January 2021, respectively.

Currently, there are 230 national economic and technological development zones in the country. 13 out of them are in Anhui province. They are listed as follows:
